After Storm Doris hit on Thursday 23rd it wreaked havoc across the UK. In the aftermath Chesterfield FC had sections of it’s Proact Stadium ripped off which posed a serious health and safety concern.
After an emergency phone call on Friday morning 24th to Altida Crane Hire, we were hired in and arrived within the hour, supplying one of our brand new Terex AC 100 4L Mobile Cranes.
We sent up C.E.M Electrical maintenance workers in our man riding cages, delivered on the back of one of our many Altida Transport rigid plant trucks, to repair the Proact Stadium, re-fitting the panels with extra bolts and to carry out safety inspections across the whole stand.
We also sent up our latest addition to the fleet, the Mavic Pro Drone. Our fleet of Drones were originally purchased to be sent up and survey a crane lift site from a birds-eye perspective in order to write up extremely accurate lift plans and to get a full understanding of site layout and the lift.
In this instance we used our state of the art drone to go up and view each of the panels across the stand, to evaluate the extend of damage done by Storm Doris and to see which ones needed repairing. This worked to great success, with the drone finding two panels that had come away and had loose bolts.
